Readers!

Please read my blog from the beginning(the oldest post first) That way you will have a full understanding of my story. I tried to keep the blog as short as possible because the last thing you want to do when you are feeling unwell is read a long blog full of medical jargon.
Happy Reading,
Crystal :)

  1. Thank you for this blog. My 15 year old daughter was just diagnosed with Hashimoto. We are interested in a more natural way of managing the symptoms. Your account of your experience with Hashimoto is so similar to what she is going through. Thank you and God bless you. Please keep my daughter in your prayers.

  3. Dear Crystal,
Thank you for sharing your experience on this terrible disease. I had no hope hence no will to fight back - that is until now.

  5. Thank-you for your prayers. My daughters name is Tiffany. Her brother has Type 1 Diabetes, diagnosed when he was 7, he is 14. They are 18 months apart. From all the research that I have done on Hashimoto, autoimmune diseases tend to occur in "clusters" in families which already have a family member who has an autoimmune disease, such as Type 1!
I plan on asking our doctor to run the full food allergen panel as you suggested. Our GP ran the blood work to test for the antibodies for Hash. When her symptoms became more severe, he prescribed Levothyroxin. He also prescribed Hydroxyz for the anxiety and insomnia. She really does not like taking a prescription to help her sleep but after weeks of insomnia she tried the Hydroxyz last night. We tried Melatonin for the insomnia but it did not help. We also tried over the counter Benadryl for the insomnia and it worked for a while. She has an appointment with an endocrinologist this week. My son's endocrinologist. I plan on discussing the supplements with him that have helped you so much.

  6. Brenda,
I'm so sorry to hear that your children are struggling with autoimmune diseases. It's great that they have a Mother that is so dedicated to helping them and finding answers.
I've also heard that autoimmune diseases run in families and that if you have one you could end up with others.
That's why I was so adamant about overcoming Hashimoto's disease. One interesting thing is that Food allergies also run in families. There is such a huge link between the two. I hope you can get to the bottom of this soon so your daughter can begin to heal.

  7. Dear Brenda, my name is Steliyana and I also have Hashi and I am hypothyroid. I am refusing to take my hormone pills for the time being and I am trying with homeopathy and supplements and now picking more ideas from Crystal's wonderful blog. Many, many thanks Crystal! I am posting under your post in connection with insomnia which I also have and the way I fight it is with some yoga breathing and a bit of meditation. The moment I started this Ujjayi breathing I started sleeping much much better. here is a link for it http://www.yogapranayama.net/ujjayi-pranayama.html. What I basically do is sit in my bed cross-legged before I go to sleep and I listen to the sound that is produced while the air passes through my throad , when the throat is tensed gently. I do that for 20-30 mins and then I just relax my breathing and observe my thoughts or normal breath or anything that is taking place in my body and mind. Maybe you can get a proper yoga teacher to show you that breathing but it is very easy.
